The coveted 1st ever "Rocker of the Night" award goes to:

The fellows and I (Jamie and Chris) continued our long tradition of rocking out. Tonight's venture was to see Queensryche primarily, and it just so happened that Judas Priest was headlining the show. The show was at Darien Lake's satisfactory amphitheater.

Queensryche started promptly at 7:30 pm and opened with..something. I have to admit I'm not to familiar with a lot of their music. Don't get me wrong, I like it - I'm just not too familiar with their catalog. I did however know a few songs, "Queen of the Ryche", which I believe was off their first album a hundred years ago. They sounded pretty well - and they played something from their upcoming sequel album, Operation Mindcrime 2. I don't recall the title...."something America" or "Americans..." They only played an hour - which was not enough.

Priest came on about 20 min after Queensryche. I've never seen them live, so I didn't know what to expect. They pretty much rocked. For not being a Priest fan by any means, I actually knew, or at least had some familiarity with most of the songs played. Halford hasn't lost a bit - his voice is as loud and powerful as I ever recalled. For the beginning of the 4 song encore, Halford rolled out on stage on his bike - They closed off the show with "Hell Bent For Leather", "Painkiller", "You Got Another Thing Comin" and "Living After Midnight". For not being a 'fan' I seem to have a good enough knowledge of their works...Odd. And yes, they also played "Breaking The Law" earlier in the show. They played for about 2 hours.

All in all I would have liked to have seen a bit more from Queensryche, but the show was over all pretty good.

I just completed my latest painting, 'Terri' for my current series, 'Clean'.

Terri Schmidt works at Greece Olympia as a teacher, and from what I'd expect, she's a gifted teacher. Terri volunteered to sit for me in my studio a few months back. Terri, and her husband Peter (who also sat for me: work to be posted later) are pretty close friends of Christy and I. Seeing as how I am familiar with her personality, I was looking for a very particular image from our photo session. Of all the forty plus photos, this is the only one that caught a piece of personality. It was just the perfect moment. While some could interpret the expression as smug, or pompous - I can ssure you that it's best representative of her confidence and strength. She a strong lady, and smart. Although my wife will throw a few blonde jokes at her and her daughter - she really is quite smart (so is her daughter btw).

In the Greece Ridge mall - this poor schmuck was leaning over totally oblivious to the breeze going down his backside...

I recently was hired by the Pittsford high schools to do caricatures at both their Jr. Ball and then Sr. Prom after parties the next week. I worked a solid two hours, averaging 49 caricatures for a two hour duration. That's roughly a caricature every 2;40. Fast - Even for me. They had the event at Total Sports Experience. Pretty impressive place. Sure was a far cry from my proms....

These photos are from the Jr.Ball after party, both events were large and full of activities.
